Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

Hey all,

Damn I am busy today.

I have been looking at this game and was wondering, has anyone played this game and if they have, do you recommend it?

I am looking for a new game to kill time, so was wondering if anyone could recommend it?

Cheers,

DG

Re: Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

While I can't comment properly on it, what I will say is I bought it on release, played for a couple of weeks, then I went back to RA2 for online skirmishes with my mates. I don't doubt it's actually a good game, just not as good as Red Alert 2, to me.

Re: Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

I'd second that. I played RA2 to death, both on the campaigns and in skirmishes. That game lasted me ages.

RA3 I got bored with after about a week. I didn't even finish one campaign.

As DA says, it's not a bad game but Westwood Studios had a certain magic touch with their games that EA failed to include in the contract when they bought them out.

Re: Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

You'll be kicking yourself when I tell you this:

RA3 and it's expansion pack were in the steam sale on the 2nd (ish) of Jan for 6 each. It would have been rude not to give them a pop at that price. Back up to 15ish now though I believe.

Well, if you want my $0.02 worth, I really quite enjoyed RA3. Infact, seeing this post prompted me to play it for an hour or two yesterday.
The Tiberium wars expansion was also jolly good fun.

Re: Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

I might give it another go. I'm still pretty well welded to Borderlands and Race07 though so it might be a while.

Re: Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

Personally I couldnt stand RA3, EA had ruined the Red Alert name, made the graphics and units far too cartoon-ish, and it just bored me playing it.

Red Alert 2, or Generals anyday.
