Aikidoholic is an unknown quantity at this point
I'm absolutely loving the D80 and the results i've been getting from it , about 6 months ago I never saw myself going down the DSLR route but now I wonder how I ever managed wihtout it! D80 is obviously my first DSLR so can't draw direct comparison to the D70 i'm afraid, my pics are definately noticably sharper and more crop friendly than my old 6MP S3-IS but comparing a DSR to a bridge camera isn't exactly an accurate comparison so not all that conclusive I wouldn't have thought.

I know there's a few other improvements over the D70 though, most notably the pentaprism viewfinder (noticably bigger and brighter than pentamirror ones, or at least was when I did the comparison between D80 and EOS 400D in Jessops), bigger LCD, uses SD cards instead of CF (was alright for me becuase my old camera used SD but if you've got a lot of CFs from your D70 then you couldn't use them and would have to fork out for SDs, albeit you can pick SDs up stupidly cheaply these days) and 11 point AF (the D70 is only 5 point isn't it?), I think there's some other general improvements in the metering etc but not sure on the specifics. Most reviews I've seen say that if you've already got the D70 and have no real complaints with it then it probably isn't worth the extra £500+ for the D80 and the money is better saved for lenses or even the next level of body like the D200 and I think if it was me I'd probably think that way too (i've got my eye on a couple of lenses and all manner of other kit that I can't afford for a long time ) but it's all personal opinion at the end of the day isn't it
