Re: Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX

Would like to see a real unbiased side by side comaprison with a Radeon, and I bet Nvidia have bunged them cash to cripple it a bit on Radeons.
Still, it a about time games came out that can use all the features of my Geforce.

Re: Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX

Also general graphics level of detail between the two looks quite a way off, looks like they are comparing PC to Xbox?
Smells if a typical rigged Nvidia demo, still the Physx features look nice if not ripped direct from a Nvidia tech demo.

Re: Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX

I'm sure it's not just ripped. Although, this has sort of put a cog in the works for what new graphics card I want. I never know which to go for, Radeon or Nvida..

Indeed, I was under the impression All GPU's could use PhysX, just Nvidia GPU's are accelerated for better performance when using it?

Re: Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX

No, PhysX is a Nvidia thing since they bought the company that made it.

Kris, I wouldn't let this be the whole basis of what card you get, very few games benefit and I doubt you will notice this much in game.
That said Nvidia still seem to be the best atm.

Nothing wrong with playing this game on a AMD card, for the most part it will look the same.
Gameplay will be unchanged.

I figured as much, but those PhysX are very nice.

Re: Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX

Gunner grab a physx card off ebay, you can pick them up around 15 quid now, get a 128mb one and youre all set. You need to install an old version of Physx first to get the driver for it to show on Win 7 then you just update to the latest version.

Not a bad idea. Cheers.

Re: Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX

Yea, I have run games with Physx enabled in the past and found that a high end card can generally handle it.
Another option if you have a spare Nvidia card that is up to the job is to stick that in as a second card and set it as a dedicated physx card.
