Enterprise's final journey

So I thought I best post some pictures from the day....

Truly an epic event.

People were cheering, clapping and some crying. For those who get the opportunity to come to NYC, Enterprise will be at the Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum on 43rd Street and 12th Ave.

Once in a lifetime event and so proud to be apart of it, even if I'm not a yank.

Re: Enterprise's final journey

We got to see one of the last of the Shuttle going up
Will try and sort out some pictures of it a bit later on.

Seeing something like this and being "there" is just amazing
glad you got to see it and feel the "moment" as such

Re: Enterprise's final journey

As Rasher said, getting to see a shuttle launch really was a truely amazing experience. The atmosphere and sense of occation is hard to discribe. Definately a 'once in a life time' thing.

Re: Enterprise's final journey

To boldly go where...

Wait no, it never went into space!, Damn shame that out of the entire fleet the Enterprise was the one never to go into space, I think there was at one point talk of fitting it out after the Challenger disaster but instead they went with building Endevour out of spare parts.

Next big space ship should be called Enterprise (A Perhaps?) and should be the flagship imo

Re: Enterprise's final journey

<Star Trek Geek Hat>

After the tragic Columbia accident, Star Trek: Enterprise paid tribute to it. There are subtle hints..

NX-02 was named Columbia and the uniforms had 7 Stars on the emblem, to represent the lost crew.
