I was more thinking about files and folders at the time, if you cut a folder or file in windows explorer and paste it elsewhere you can't paste another duplicate again because it is cleared off the clipboard. Applications like word handle it differently. But generally speaking when I cut something I only intend to paste it once not multiple times.

It's weird, you know all the other ones but that has just been there without me really knowing what it does.

Cut = Move
Copy = Duplicate

Getting (too) technical (for TGK) here:
When dealing with files, only the *location* is added to the clipboard, you wouldn't actually want to add 2GB (for example) to the clipboard. So when you paste, the files are actually moved, so the previous references are now invalid because bigpornfile.avi is no longer in c:\porn\bigporn\, it's in d:\porn\filthy\bigporn\

In theory this is how Word and other apps should work as well, but they don't. Thats just the way it is, and would probably case more confusion if they changed it now.

I often use cut then multiple pastes.

Yea, it passes a pointer. I just thought it was best to keep it in simple terms like paper and scissors for the thicko's sake

It shouldn't be long until natural selection fixes the problem
