Rasberry Pi

Just got one, was gonna do a media server (xbmc thingy) but just for fun might have a go at some other things, any ideas ??

Is it actualy powerful enough for a media PC, I cant imagine it can do 1080p?

From what I've read from those that have them, it can.

Seems very underpowered for a media machine to me, how does it do 1080p, I thought it just had a composite output?

Quick update, set it up with xbmc and works nicely...

ripping a blu-ray to see if it can play one (lossless massive file etc...)

Will post pics if anyone wants me to, its tiny btw...

Some the best uses of my Pi been so far has been using it with XBMC, as a NAS drive - which is awesome by the way and recently tested with Android (works but needs more development) Going to try Picast soon but Lightberry has got me interested more.

we have been using ours as a XMBC
Its a great to replace a PC with that small box, we then have all the media stored on a NAS system.

Also, we have been messing with a PI using "OwnCloud"
Think Dropbox, but your own hard drives at home

Been working really well so far.
