I would say take the best upgrade you can for the hardware. In the past i've found that over time the needs of the unit have changed (as they always do) and finding a better upgrade for that machine...

hyper-v generally doesn't care about the licensing status of its guests. (remember hypervisors can host "other" operating systems as well.. we host a mix of nix and ms OS'es)

yeah they are called hypervisors.

and yes they are a thing, low level OS just to boot the virtual boxes.

Playstation stuck with the Idea of the unit being a GAMES console, while MS touted it as a media unit, and the Dash boards show this. turn PS4 on get to your games. turn xbox on, flick though...

you tend not to get dual gfx in PC's (they have the tendancy disable on chip gfx in favour for the external, in laptops its a power saving thing so they leave it on)
