It's not a backdoor for HACKERS, it's a backdoor for the GOVERNMENT. Duh!

Sorry, where are my manners!

I wonder how secure Sony would have been if they didn't have to, you know, LOOK for a hole first... :)

Think my degree will be worth nothing if this muppet passes this. Does that mean I get my 28,000 refund?:u20

While I seriously doubt this would ever come to fruition, I find the idea that our Prime Minister would seriously advocate this gross of invasion of privacy as utterly and completely terrifying. It's enough to immediately discount my voting for his party irrespective of any other policies they may run on.

That is not the kind of country I want to live in.

Just a reminder strong encryption is easy to do by hand. Viginere Cypher plus a one time pad is still effectivly unbreakable

What amuses me the most, is he uses a Blackberry.... what is BBM? Yep, encrypted!
so if he passes it, and RIM, Google, Failbook and Apple do the same as they have in the USA (told government to stick it)... that's no BBM, iMessage, Whatsapp etc. got to love technically uneducated politicos asking for the impossible.
