Grief from the game - addiction to computer games (pt.1)

Posted 11-11-2021 at 10:02 AM by Igrok

Specialists emphasize that computer addiction develops when you regularly surf the Web and enjoy computer games for more than 2-4 hours a day. After the working day, everyone prefers to relax in the usual way: take a walk, spend time with family and friends, read, watch a movie. However, when a loved one is ready to sit at the monitor for hours, not letting go of the phone and not paying attention to anything around - it's an alarm bell.

Game addiction is no better than alcoholism, shopaholics, endless watching soap operas and gambling. Men are more susceptible to this phenomenon than women. Wives complain about husbands who spend all their free time playing "tanks". In addition to the aimlessly wasted time that could be devoted to the family, gamblers irritate their loved ones not only by the lack of attention to them, but also by the useless financial investment in the virtual life of the game. Some are still willing to agree that there is a problem.

If we talk about the psychology of game addiction, it is based on withdrawal from reality. A person tries to compensate for life's problems by assuming a certain role, trying to be realized if not in real life, then in the game. Some even buy boost services to stand out in their favorite game. Being fascinated by cyberspace, the gamer begins to consider the virtual world the main environment of existence, confused with reality.
